Sarah Palin is an American politician, author, and TV personality who ran as Senator John McCain’s candidate in the 2008 presidential election.

After graduating from college, Sarah tried her hand at sports news and reporting before finally going into politics. In 1992, Palin, who ran with the Republicans, won a seat on Wasilla City Council.

In 2002, Sarah Palin challenged the incumbent governor of Alaska, Frank Murkowski, for the Republican Party nomination, but lost by less than 2,000 votes. In a second attempt, Palin won the Republican gubernatorial primary in 2006, defeating the incumbent Governor Murkowski.

In August 1984, she was on the move again and enrolled at the University of Idaho. In January 1986, Palin returned to the University of Idaho, attending three more semesters: Spring 1986, Fall 1986, and Spring 1987. In May 1987, she finally graduated with a degree in Journalism and Communication.

Sarah is married to Todd Palin. The duo met in high school at Wasilla High School. Their romance blossomed early, and in August 1988 they broke through. Todd is an oil field production manager who worked for eighteen years for the BP oil company on the North Slope oil fields in Alaska.

Todd is also a commercial fisherman. Mr. Palin is also a four-time champion of the Tesoro Iron Dog snowmobile race, the longest snowmobile race in the world.

The couple is blessed with five children: Track Charles James, Bristol Sheeran Marie, Willow Bianca Faye; Piper Indy Grace, and Trig Paxson Van, who lives with Down’s Syndrome. They also have five grandchildren.

In December 2017, the couple’s first son, Track, attacked and beat up his father Todd in a domestic violence case. Track, a U.S. Army veteran, broke into the family home after he had a disagreement with his father over a truck. He broke through a window, disarmed his father, physically abused him, and left him with head wounds and bruises. Sarah called the police to calm the situation, whereupon Track was taken away and later charged with aggravated assault, first-degree burglary, and fourth-degree assault.
