Many consider Stoudimire Jewish, but the basketball player neither welcomes nor disapproves of this idea. Instead, he has confirmed his ties with the Hebrew-Israelite community. He appreciates and respects the fact that his mother is Hebrew and has taught himself to appreciate his roots.

When he was only 12 years old, Amar’e lost his father to a heart attack. One of his notable records was the game against the Minnesota Timberwolves, where he scored a season-high of 38 points; part of what earned him the NBA Rookie of the Year award.

He continued to set impressive records and was held in high esteem by his team.
