Finn Balor Bio & Age
Balor, whose real name is Fergal Devitt, was born on 25 July 1981 in Bray, Ireland. In his family, there are 4 other siblings; 3 brothers and one sister.
Finn Balor grew up at St. Cronan’s School in Bray, where he played football on the school team. It was at this time that the Irish boy took a liking to wrestle and became involved in the sport, earning him a first-degree black belt in IBF submission wrestling. He was a fan of World of Sport and The British Bulldogs, Rick Rude, and Mr. Perfect and a few others who were worth their money at the time.
Finn Balor Wrestling Career
As he grew older he decided that wrestling was what he wanted to do with his life and with this in mind Finn Balor began training with NWA UK Hammerlock and made his debut in 2000 at the ripe old age of 18. He then won the NWA British Commonwealth Heavyweight Championship. However, in 2006 he lost the title to Karl Anderson.

Later in 2006, he signed a contract with New Japan Pro-Wrestling (NJPW), but had a poor performance in the following months. In August 2007, Finn formed a tag team with Minoru when they entered the RISE stable under the name Prince Prince, winning the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Championship in the heavyweight category, losing to Akira and Jushin Thunder Liger in February 2008, but winning again in July only to lose it back to No Limit.
Finn Balor formed another tag team called “Apollo 55” that became one of the most successful tag teams of all time by winning the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Championship four times and successfully defending it seven times. January 2010 marked the beginning of a winning streak in his career; as “Apollo 55” won and defended the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Day Team Championship several times, just as he repeated the same feat for the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Day Team Championship. In 2013, he was the first wrestler to host the IWGP Junior Heavyweight and IWGP Heavyweight Junior Heavyweight Championships simultaneously with the Tag Team “Bullet Cub”.
The Irish-born wrestler signed with the WWE on May 15, 2014, and joined NXT on October 23, where he made his debut with Itami in a match against Tyson Kidd and Justin Gabriel that ended with a win for the two. Finn won the NXT championship title on NXT TakeOver: London defeated title contender Joe. He held on to the championship for 292 days and became the longest titleholder in history, but soon lost it to another wrestler named Joe.
Finn Balor’s career took a leap forward when he was drafted into RAW and made his debut with a win and the right to fight for the WWE Universal Championship after defeating Cesaro, Rusev, and Kevin Owens in the Fatal 4-way match and also defeating Roman Reigns. He won the 2016 WWE Universal Championship by defeating Seth Rollins in the SummerSlam.
Injury Updates
After a break of almost a year due to the injury Finn Balor suffered when he won the SummerSlam WWE Universal Championship 2016, he took another break in a match against Jinder Mahal on April 10, 2018. Finn suffered a concussion after being repeatedly hit pretty hard in the face, which led to his suspension from the events for the rest of the week.
The question arose as to whether he was an injury-prone wrestler or not, which weakened the companies’ confidence in him as a big star. However, considering that he has recovered from an earlier injury, he is expected to make a full recovery and be active in the ring again soon.
