Joe Staley was born on August 30, 1984, in Rockford, Michigan. He attended Rockford High School, where his interest in sports led him to participate in high school sports, particularly athletics and soccer. His exploits in football did not go unnoticed either, as in 2004 he was offered a scholarship from Central Michigan University to play college football as part of their scholarship program.
