Joy Mangano Bio

Joy Magano was born on February 1, 1956, in East Meadow, New York, to Italian-American parents Rudy Mangano and his wife Terri Mangano. She has American citizenship and belongs to a mixed ethnic background. After completing her basic education, Mangano enrolled at Pace University, New York, where she earned a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration in 1978.

Mangano began inventing various things early on. As a teenager, she worked in a veterinary clinic in Huntington, New York, and while there, she thought about a fluorescent flea collar that would keep animal pets safe. The following year, a product with a similar design was launched by Hartz Mountain. After graduating from Pace University, Joy did several jobs so she could support herself and her family. Her frustration with some of the household accessories led her to her first invention.

Product and Inventions

In her quest to create something new, Mangano made her first invention in 1990, and it was a miracle mop. The Miracle Mop is a self-wringing plastic mop with an endless cotton loop that can be wrung out without the user touching the water. She used her savings and the investments of her family and friends to develop the prototype. In 1991 she produced over 100 units of the wonder mop, which was assembled in her father’s workshop in Peconic.

Mangano continued to record massive sales, and in 2000 she sold over $10 million worth of Miracle Pugs annually.

Mangano also invented Huggable Hangers with thin profiles that save space in the cabinet. With the support of Oprah Winfrey, the hangers became the best-selling HSN product in 2010, selling over 300 million units in the United States. She launched her next invention, Forever Fragrant. This is a collection of odor neutralizers, including sticks, waveless candles, fragrance stands, drawer inserts, end pieces, shoe shapers, etc. The product broke the HSN sales record in 2010, selling over 180,000 units in one day. Mangano is a very beautiful lady and the type of woman every man wants to spend the rest of his life with. However, Mangano has not been so favorable in her love life. She used to be married to Tony Miranne. The couple met while studying at Pace University, and shortly after graduating in 1978, they went to the altar. They have three children, a son named Robert Miranne and two daughters, Christie and Jacqueline Miranne.

However, when the amazing couple lost the spark, they began to have problems that led to their divorce in 1989, after eleven years of marriage. Since then there has been no news from either party about future relationships. Apparently, their marriage ended before Mangano had the billion-dollar idea that changed their lives.
