The name Justin Chon sounds familiar to me for several reasons. He was born May 29, 1981, as Justin Jitae Chon in Garden Grove, California, and grew up in Irvine, California. He followed in his father’s (Sang Chon) footsteps and made a career in the film industry, having been inspired by his father’s films since his early childhood. His mother, Kyung, is a pianist and housewife.
Chon is a graduate of the University of Southern California, where he majored in Business Administration.
Career
Chon began his acting career in 2005 with appearances on shows like Jack & Bobby and Taki & Luci, but he came into the limelight in 2006 after appearing in the Disney Channel movie Wendy Wu: homecoming warrior in the role of Peter Wu, Wendy Wu’s brother, who happened to be the main character in the movie. The film was such a huge success that it attracted more than 5.7 million viewers on the premiere night.
In 2008, he starred as Eric Yorkie in the high school cast Twilight. The film was also a huge success and further boosted his career. He repeated the role in other Twilight sequels such as Twilight Saga: New Moon and Twilight Saga: Eclipse.

In addition to his acting career, he has directed, written, and produced other films such as the 2015 blockbuster Man up, produced, and starred in the 2017 film Gook, which won the Next Audience Award that year.
