Praised as one of the most talented singers of her generation, Pink has earned laurels and awards throughout the musical brotherhood with her strong and powerful singing.
Her less popular birth name is Alecia Beth Moore. She was born on September 8, 1979, and is an American singer, dancer, actress, and songwriter. She was born in Doylestown, Pennsylvania, to her mother Judith Moore, and her father James Moore – an insurance salesman of German and Irish descent. James Moore was Catholic, while her mother is of Jewish descent. Alecia looked like a very healthy child at birth, but soon she developed asthmatic complications in her early years.
Pink attended high school at Central Bucks High School West. She was exposed to the marital problems of her parents, and before her 10th birthday, they were already divorced. At a very early age, Pink discovered that she had a flair for singing and joined her first band called “Middle Ground”, but the band did not last long as it soon disbanded after losing the battle of the bands.
Very early on she started to write the lyrics of her songs as well, and her mother also commented on her writings saying: “Her first writings were always very introspective. Some of them were very black and very deep, almost disturbing”.
She was just 14 when she started performing in clubs in Philadelphia, and at that time she took the name Pink. Also at the same age, she was persuaded to audition for the new member of an all-female group, Basic Instinct, but eventually, the band was disbanded without releasing any material.
At the age of 16, Pink and two other teenagers, Stephanie Galligan and Chrissy Conway, formed the R&B group Choice, and their first song “Key to My Heart” helped the trio get a contract with LaFace Records in Atlanta, which was co-signed by their parents as they were under the 18-year mark. Reid, who gave the group their big breakthrough, gave Pink an ultimatum, which was to go solo or go home. This ultimatum led to the Choice being dissolved in 1998.
Soon after The Choice disbanded, Pink began working on their first solo debut album alongside some outstanding producers, and soon after that, in February 2000, their album “There You Go” was released, which was their first top 10 hit in the Billboard Hot 100 charts, peaking at number 7. She won her first trophy at the 2000 Billboard Music Awards for new female artists.
In 2013, Pink was the top-earning traveling artist with well over 20 million dollars. Occasionally she also showed her generous side, even more so in November 2017, when she donated around 500,000 dollars to help those affected by Hurricane Harvey. This was by chance when she released her 7th album “Truth about Trauma”. The superstar has sold a record number of over 40 million albums and has an astonishing net worth of around $70 million.
Carey Jason Phillip Hart started dating Pink after they met at the 2001 X Games in Philadelphia and the couple had been together for about 4 years. Pink pulled a surprising stunt when she proposed to him with a pit board at one of his races in Mammoth Lakes, California, in 2005. It was reported that she was holding a card in her hand that said “Will you marry me”, but Carey brushed it off immediately. Only when she wrote “I mean it” again did Hart withdraw from the race to pick up Pink and lift her up.
The couple split up in February 2008, but during the separation, Carey lost his brother Tony due to injuries in an autocross accident in August 2008, and in another twist, Hart hinted in March 2009 that he and Pink had started seeing each other again and sorting things out. He went even further and said that a couple had to take a few steps back to move forward.
Pink repeated in April of the same year that they were in marriage counseling and had never been divorced. One positive aspect was that in June 2011 the couple welcomed their first child, a girl named Willow Sage.
