Russell Wilson is a popular quarterback of American football, playing for the “Seattle Seahawks” of the National Football League. Russell Carrington Wilson was born in Cincinnati, Ohio on November 29, 1988, the son of Harrison Benjamin (father) and Tammy Wilson (mother). As a child, he grew up in Richmond, Virginia, where his passion for football began to grow. He is the second child of his parents and has two siblings, an older brother, Harrison IV, and a younger sister, Anna Wilson.
As a young boy, he attended Collegiate School, a preparatory school in Richmond, Virginia. In 2005, when he was still a junior, he joined the football team where he scored 40 touchdowns and threw 3,287 yards. He showed similar performance in high school when he scored seven interceptions, 34 touchdowns, and 3,009 yards. Because of his great performance, he was named “Conference Player of the Year” as senior national team quarterback.
Wilson broke records when he became the first rookie quarterback to receive the All-ACC First Team Honors while studying at North Carolina State University. In 2010, he was drafted by the Colorado Rockies in Major League Baseball. He had a minor setback at first, as most scouts thought his size of 5’11 years was too small for the NFL, despite his achievements in college football, but fortune smiled on him when the Seattle Seahawks selected him as part of their 2012 NFL draft after five other quarterbacks had already been selected.
During his time with the Seahawks, he made his regular debut with a 20-16 defeat to the Arizona Cardinals. He also stormed to 489 yards and scored 3,118 touchdowns. In his 2013 season, he ended the season with a pass rate of 101.2, 26 touchdowns, and 9 interceptions.
