Who is Behati Prinsloo?
Behati Prinsloo was born on May 16, 1988, in South Africa. Her Namibian parents had to move to South Africa before she was born because her father was a pastor in the church. However, the family finally moved back to their home country Namibia when Behati was just three years old.
Although she speaks Afrikaans, which is her mother tongue, her father, Louis Francois Prinsloo, and her mother, Magda Prinsloo, who runs a bed-and-breakfast, ensured that she received an English education. For her secondary education, Behati was enrolled at the high school of the town where she grew up, Grootfontein High School. However, in an effort to realize her dream of becoming a model, she was disappointed by the school and eventually dropped out in 9th grade.
Behati tells in an interview how she started her career as a model. According to her own words, she was in South Africa with her grandparents during the vacations, when a man in the grocery store approached her, asked if she was a model and finally gave her his number.
Her career
When Victoria’s Secret launched PINK, their lingerie line for younger women, they chose Behati as their first contract model. She modeled for the line in 2008 and the following year, became a Victoria’s Secret Angel, and has since participated in more than ten Victoria’s Secret fashion shows.
Prior to that time, Behati Prinsloo had already worked for Prada’s Miu Miu line and for Marc Jacobs, where she was shot for her first advertising campaign entitled Marc. Since then she has been photographed by renowned fashion photographers such as Paolo Rivers, Mario Testino, and David Sims for brands such as British Vogue and W Magazine. Many of her other works include campaigns for Esprit, I Am Juicy Couture Fragrance, DKNY Jeans, H&M, The Gap, Lacoste, Sportmax, Raw Spirit Fragrance, and many more.
Throughout her modeling career, the Namibian beauty has walked catwalks at fashion shows for brands such as Alexander McQueen, Christian Dior, Ralph Lauren, Anna Sui, Yves Saint Laurent, Versace, Givenchy, Calvin Klein, and many others. In 2010 Prinsloo became a fashion designer when she designed a swimsuit collection for Victoria’s Secret called “Behati Loves Pink”. Since 2014 she continues to design for other brands, such as the denim collection she designed for THVM. She has also teamed up with Juicy Couture to create a fashion and accessories collection.
The model has also designed television cameos and has appeared in music videos by well-known artists. Prinsloo appeared in an episode of Hawaii Five-O and in music videos for Sharaya J, Maroon 5, and The Virgins, among others.

Before Behati met her husband, it is not surprising that she already had a love life. Since 2005 she was with Jamie Strachan, another model, and they were together until 2012. In the same year, she met Adam Levine, the lead man of the pop band Maroon 5.

Two years later, on July 19, 2014, they finally tied the knot in Cab San Lucas, Mexico. Behati and Adam welcomed their first child, a daughter named Dusty Rose, on September 21, 2016. In February 2018 their second daughter, Gio Grace, was born.
