Debra “Debbe” Dunning was born in Burbank, California on July 19, 1966, the daughter of Diane and Bob Dunning. She was the only child born of her parents, so Debbe grew up fully provided for. As a child, she loved dolls and spent much time dressing them and playing father-mother-child. She attended John Burroughs High School where she was a member of the cheerleading team. She was also named Homecoming Queen before she went to college.
Since she was a little girl, Debbe wanted to be a star like in the movies and she certainly had the good looks to back up that ambition, if nothing else. She began her career in the modeling industry when she was signed by the prestigious Judith Fontaine Modeling and Talent Agency in Los Angeles. With their help, she booked numerous modeling gigs, appeared in photoshoots and advertising campaigns for brands such as Foot Locker, Ford Motors, and Miller Beer.
At the age of 18, she participated in a local beauty contest and was named Miss Burbank in 1984. Around the same time, Debbe Dunning was introduced in Tool Time Girl and as a tool assistant. As her modeling career blossomed, Debbe decided to diversify her portfolio and become an actress. She received her first role in 1988 in Dangerous Curves.
