Jackie Bradley Jr.’s baseball career began in his teenage years after he graduated high school and before he went to college. The midfielder’s college career was outstanding, with very impressive averages in each category. His contribution earned him the 2010 College World Series Most Outstanding Player award. Bradley was then drafted into the 2011 Major Baseball League as the 40th overall candidate for the Boston Red Sox and made his MLB professional debut for the team in August 2011.

Bradley was born on April 19, 1990, in Richmond, Virginia. After his time at Prince George, High School came to an end, he was appointed to Virginia’s AAA All-State Team in 2008.
While studying at the University of South Carolina in 2009, Jackie finished his season with 0.349 and 69 runs in 63 events. He also hit 11 home runs, walking 34 times and scoring 31 strikeouts.
In the next campaign, he had a batting average of 0.369, 13 home runs, and scored 56 goals in 67 runs. He also scored 10-29 on the home plate to become CWS’s most outstanding player for 2010. His college career ended in 2010 and paved the way for a successful professional career.
Professional Career and Stats
The midfielder joined the Red Sox in 2011 and scored 0.250 in his first 10 games, playing for the Lowell Spinners of Minor League Baseball. For his efforts, he was named Minor League Defensive Player of the Year by the Red Sox in 2012.
In 2013, he was ranked 32nd in MLB.com’s Top 100 Prospect list. After receiving an option for the Pawtucket Red Sox in April 2019, he was called back on May 29th and hit the first home run of his career in a game against the Texas Rangers on June 4th. Between June 8 and September 7, he returned to Pawtucket two more times this year.

In 2013, Jackie Bradley Jr. was involved in 37 games for the Boston Red Sox, beating .189, 10 RBI, 3 home runs, and 2 stolen bases. His team was to win the world series in the final match against the St. Louis Cardinals.
Bradley was back on the Pawtucket twice in 2014, although he was a regular player for the Red Sox in the time between the two matches. His defensive play was exceptional, but with a home run for the Red Sox, he scored just 0.216 goals.
With his record performance in the Red Sox’s 22-10 win over the Seattle Mariners in the 2015 22-10 win over the Seattle Mariners, Jackie laid claim to becoming a full-time Reds outfielder. This incredible run enabled him to increase his batting average from 0.222 to 0.350 and secure the title of AL Player of the Month for May. In addition, for the first time in his career, he was called to the All-Star Game at the end of the season as a starter.
In 2017, Jackie was twice placed on the 10-day handicap list. First because of a sprained right knee, then because of an injury to his left thumb.
