Joe Flacco Rise to Fame

The American athlete started his career right after high school, where he played baseball, football, and basketball teams. He attended Audubon High School and was a good athlete throughout his stay there. Toward the end of his high school days, Rivals.com, who considered him a three-star recruit, listed him as number 39 in the 2003 quarterback outlook class.

When Joe transferred to the University of Pittsburgh in the same year (2003), he became part of the Panthers football team. As a rookie, he was tucked into a red shirt and became the team’s replacement quarterback for Tyler Palko in 2004. As a substitute, he played only three games against the University of South Florida, Ohio University, and the University of Nebraska. This season ended with him playing only one game over 11 yards.

He immediately transferred to Delaware College and had his first full action in the 2006 season, and led his team in the 2007 season. By the end of his time at Delaware College, he had set 20 school records and earned a Bachelor’s degree in Arts/Science. Delaware honored him with a 20 by a 30-foot poster in the stadium in September 2009.

In the 2008 NFL Draft, he was signed by the Ravens for a five-year $30 million contract. He played amazingly for the team, leading to victory in the Super Bowl in the 2012 season, and has a string of NFL and franchise records.

His Salary and Net Worth

In 2013, Joe Flacco became the highest-paid player in the NFL. That year he signed a six-year, $120.6 million contract with the Baltimore Ravens. Three years later (in March 2016), he signed a three-year contract extension worth $66.4 million.

Joe Flacco Family – Brothers, Wife, and Children

The XY chromosome seems to be the dominant one in Flacco’s family. Joe Flacco has four boys and only one girl; interestingly, he is the first son of his parents’ five boys. His younger brothers are Mike Flacco, John Flacco, Brian Flacco, and Tom Flacco. For avid sports fans, these names could ring a bell.

Mike Flacco is a baseball player who was selected by the Baltimore Orioles in the 2009 Major League Amateur Draft. On March 15, 2013, he was sold by the Orioles to the Boston Red Sox, but he declined the offer and retired from baseball. He then took up football when he enrolled at the University of New Haven.

John Flacco is an errand boy for the Stanford Cardinal Football Team. And the youngest brother, Tom Flacco, is also a quarterback. He played two seasons (2015 and 2016) for his college team, Western Michigan University, moving to Rutgers in 2017 and finally to Towson in 2018.

On 25 June 2011 Flacco became a married man. In a very traditional Catholic wedding ceremony, he married Dana Grady, his high school sweetheart. They held a reception in the city of Philadelphia.

Joe Flacco could well be on his way to start his own football team, he already has five very lovable children. Barely a year after their wedding (June 13, 2012), Dana put a bouncing little boy to bed, and he was named Stephen Vincent. About fifteen months later (on 15 September 2013), the couple welcomed their second son Daniel.

Francis Michael, their third son, appeared in the world himself on January 20, 2015. Then their princess and (still?) only daughter arrived on September 27, 2016; she was named Evelyn Renee. Some people thought well, this must be the last one, but Joe said no. A few months ago, exactly on April 6, 2018, Thomas Kevin, her fourth son, but the fifth child, was born. Are there any more little Flaccos on the way? We can only watch and see.
