Kevin Owens, born Kevin Yanick Steen, is a professional wrestler of Canadian origin who is under contract with the WWE. He performs under the ring name Kevin Owens.

Born on May 7, 1984, he first developed a passion for wrestling at the age of 11 after seeing a video game between Shawn Michaels and Diesel on WrestleMania XI. Three years later, his parents reluctantly allowed him to train with Quebec-based wrestler Serge Jodoin, after which he continued training with Jacques Rougeau.
On 7 May 2000, his 16th birthday, he had his first professional match in L’Assomption, Quebec. He competed for the Ring of Honor (ROH) and won the ROH World Championship and the ROH World Tag Team Championship. His professional teeth were beaten in the Pro Wrestling Guerrilla (PWG), where he won the PWG World Championship three times and the PWG World Tag Team Championship three times.
