Melissa Benoist Biography
Benoist was born Melissa Marie Benoist on 4 October 1988 in Littleton, Colorado. Her parents (Julie and Jim Benoist) separated when she was very young. She has two sisters (Jessica and Kristina).
She graduated from the Arapahoe High School Centennial in Colorado and received a Bachelor of Arts in Drama Arts from Marymount Manhattan College New York City in 2011.
Her Rise To Stardom
She showed an interest in art from an early age and was properly instructed. At the age of three, she was enrolled in dance classes, and at four she started acting in church.
By the time her friends were going to graduation parties, Benoist was chasing her passion and building a career. She was a member of a music theater school led by Paul Dwyer and Alan Worley, who performed at Disneyland for three summers. She also performed Cinderella, Bye Bye Birdie, and Evita with local production.
In 2006, when Benoist was only 18 years old, she was named one of five “Can’t-Miss Kids” from Colorado by the Denver Post.

In 2013, she and other ambassadors – members Becca Tobin, Jacob Artist, and Dean Geyer – traveled to Manila in the Philippines to support the product through visits to various shopping malls and meetings with fans.
In 2015 she played the lead role in Danny Collins alongside Al Pacino. She also played Lorelai in Lowriders.
