Growing up, Neal moved around a lot in and around Seattle. He lived at different times in places like Queen Anne, Magnolia, Ballard, Ravenna, Edmonds, Downtown, West Seattle, and Fremont. He began his schooling at Roosevelt High School, continued it at Garfield High School, went through the CEDU school system, and ended up at Shawnigan Lake School.
He then went to Idyllwild Arts Academy, where he spent a year learning more about acting and writing. After graduating from the Academy of Arts, Neal Bledsoe continued his artistic training at the North Carolina School of the Arts under the guidance of accomplished theater director Gerald Freedman. He completed his studies in 2005 and earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree.

After graduating, Neal Bledsoe had a quick start in his acting career. He received his first professional recognition as an actor in 2 episodes of the television series Guiding Light (2005) when the character Quinn was born just under a month after he left school. In the same year, Neal played the role of Noah in The Ridge. Other films in which he has starred include Revolutionary Road (2008), Winked Out and Under New Management (both 2009), Sex and the City 2 (2010), The Walken Dead, Highrise, and A Kiss for Jed (2011).
He continued to expand his acting portfolio, playing various characters in Junction (2012), You There? (2013), Grand Street and West End (both 2014), Primary (2015), After the Sun Fell (2016), and Police State (2017), where he played alongside Sean Young, Seth Gilliam, and others. Neal also appeared in Timeless (2016) as Robert Todd Lincoln, Coming Home for Christmas as Robert Marley, and The Last Tycoon as Axel, both in 2017. More recently, the Canadian-American actor has appeared in Chiefs as Enrizio and Max Whitford in Shameless (2018).
