Charlotte Lewis is an English actress born on August 7, 1967, in Kensington, London, the daughter of a doctor whose father is half Chilean and half Iraqi and whose mother is of Irish-English descent. For reasons not disclosed, the actress never met her father and was raised exclusively by her mother. Lewis received her early education at the Bishop Douglass School in Finchley, but there is no further information about her college education.
The star actress is of mixed ethnicity and has obviously inherited all the good qualities from both sides, as she is still a sight to see even at such an advanced age. She ventured into acting as a teenager in 1986 when she appeared in the film Pirates, which was her debut film. In the same year, she was given a starring role in the film The Golden Child Beside the Big Wig Eddie Murphy, in which she further demonstrated her talent and appeared in other films such as Dial: Help (1988), Tripwire (1989), The Legend of the Emerald Princess (1989), Lipstick Camera (1994), Men of War (1994), The Glass Cage (1986), Every Dog Has Its Day (1999) and many others.
She soon became very popular as an actress and the magazines called for her. With her beauty and talent, this was also a success. She was on the cover of the July 1993 issue of Playboy magazine and caused quite a stir, opening the doors to her television debut. Charlotte Lewis appeared in series like “Grange Hill”, “Crime Story”, “Broken Bridges”, “Red Shoe Diaries”, “Renegade” and others. Her last appearance in a television series was in Lost Angelas, which was released in 2017. From her numerous works before and after the break and after her return, as well as from her modeling jobs, she is credited with a net worth of $2 million.
6 Things You Need to Know About Charlotte Lewis
Charlotte Lewis has gone out with quite a few famous actors and celebrities, and that’s no surprise considering how beautiful she is, but she has never been one to linger. The long list of those she has dated at some point includes Jim Carrey, William Annesley, Julian Lennon, Mario Sotela, Mikhail Baryshnikov, Charlie Sheen, Warren Beatty, Roman Polanski, Jack Nicholson, Mickey Rourke, Harry Dean Stanton, and others. That’s a long time, huh?
But as I mentioned earlier, Lewis is known for never staying too long in any relationship with the opposite sex. This has also led to many questions regarding her sexuality, as many believe that she may be more attracted to women than men. Ironically, she has not taken the time to respond to speculation or to make it clear that she is heterosexual.
All in all, Charlotte Lewis is not yet married, but she has a son who currently lives in London. Not much is known about him, but we do know that she had him sometime in August 2004.
The Polanski Scandal
Much dust was stirred up in 2010 when Charlotte Lewis and her lawyer Roman Polanski accused Lewis of sexual abuse at the age of 16. The accusation soon became a huge scandal when Polanski came out and openly denied the allegations. Further investigation dug up an interview that Lewis had given in 1999 and found that the two of them had indeed had a romantic relationship that apparently began and ended with each other.
The two had met while working together on the comedy film Pirates (1986) and had remained friends even after the end of their six-month relationship because, according to Lewis, Polanski did not want them to be friends in this way. But the accusation was a big dent in Polanski’s image, especially since it was neither the first nor the last of these accusations.
Charlotte Lewis began her acting career at Grange Hill, where she appeared as Samantha when she was just eleven years old. At the age of 14, while studying at Bishop Douglas Catholic Secondary School, Charlotte Lewis became involved in prostitution, into which she was lured by an older boyfriend who had hocked underage girls to much older men.
The actress said she never knew what she was doing because the older lady in charge often spilled her drink. But when she woke up one morning with a wad of cash on the bedside table and only vaguely remembered what happened, she confronted her so-called boyfriend who told her it was a mistake but kept doing it anyway. The phase lasted until the friend took her to a group of Arabs who promised her a better life if she came with them to Saudi Arabia. At this point, she came to her senses and confessed her deeds to her mother after narrowly escaping the Arabs.
At the time Charlotte Lewis went into prostitution, she also became addicted to cocaine, but unlike prostitution, which she easily stopped using, it was not so easy to stop using drugs until she asked a former alcoholic and junkie boyfriend for help at the age of 29. As her friend Eric had a good understanding of what she was going through at the time, she quickly flew to London and took her to the Priory Clinic in Roehampton.
During a four-week program, she lost a ton of weight but was successfully weaned from the drugs to help her overcome her addiction.
Many knew her because of her very brief romantic involvement, and although fans expected her to walk down the aisle with someone, this never happened. However, she did get close once, when she went out with film producer Mario Sotela and eventually became engaged to him. The engagement lasted a year, but instead of the wedding date that many had been looking forward to, the two broke up.
There is no doubt that Charlotte Lewis is a very beautiful woman. Judging by all the signs and by how early she set off, she was classified as an early bloomer, so by the age of 14, she was already a head-turner. She is 1.5 meters 6 inches tall and has dark brown hair and dark brown eyes. Her waist size is 23 inches, she wears a bra size of 34B, and her hip size is 34 inches.
