Chris is an American actor, writer, and, most importantly, comedian. He is best known as the host of the comedy show The Chris Gethard Show. The show, which is based in New York City, was originally a live show performed at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre. Gethard was born and raised by his parents, Ken and Sally Gethard, in West Orange, New Jersey. The comedian was born on May 23, 1980, and when he came of age, he enrolled in West Orange High School. There are no details of his time in high school. However, Chris attended Rutgers University.
In 2000, while at Rutgers University, he began taking improvisational acting classes at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre. There he met a number of people who would later help him put together his self-titled talk show, Comedy Central’s The Christ Gethard Show. The show was eventually acquired by Fusion and then by truTV in 2017.
During his studies at the Theater der Bürgerbrigade, he was also a member of the long-form improvisation team The Stepfathers. Gethard even named an album after him. On April 22, 2014, he released his first album, aptly titled My Comedy Album, on Giovanni Records. It was announced by the A.V. Club as one of the best comedy albums of the year. It also received an almost perfect rating of 9.2/10 from Paste Magazine.
