Who Is Scott Aukerman Wife, Kulap Vilaysack?
They may have married in 2008, but Scott and Kulap have known each other since 1998, a time when Aukerman’s career was just starting to take off. Kulap was just 18 years old at that time. It was a year before they started getting together and since then the duo has stayed by each other’s side and helped themselves grow into the stars we all love today.
Their first encounter took place during a recording for Mr. Storm, the sketch-comedy show where Aukerman had his beginnings as a writer. Kulap, who was born in Washington, D.C., had moved to Los Angeles, where she attended the Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising.
Scott Aukerman’s wife, unlike him, had a somewhat rough childhood. Her family, originally from Laos, was forced by the Vietnam War to cross the Mekong to Thailand, where she lived in a refugee camp from where she immigrated to the United States. They first landed in Washington D.C., where Kulap was to be born on 11 May 1980.
Soon after, they moved to Eagan, Minnesota, where Kulap would spend most of her childhood. There she had two younger sisters named Anita and Alyssa. In Minnesota, her parents started a restaurant where Kulpad helped wash dishes when she was old enough.
Kulap grew up with her parents constantly getting into terrible fights, and during one of their fights, she was greeted with the shock of her life when her mother revealed to her that the man who raised her (whom she defended during the frequent fights) was not her biological father. She was only 14 years old at that time. In 2014 she started a documentary series called Origin Story, in which she travels to Laos to learn more about her roots and find her biological father.

But before Scott’s wife grew enough to produce her own documentary, she took lessons at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre in Los Angeles, where she also performed. She began to make uncredited appearances in television shows and films. Her primary focus was on television, where she appeared in a handful of performances from Children’s Hospital to her husband’s IFC television series Comedy Bang! Bang!
She is best known for Who Charted? – a podcast that was broadcast on her husband’s Earwolf podcast network from 2010 to 2018. She received much acclaim for creating Bajillion Dollar Propertie$. The fake reality show is a parody of Million Dollar Listing and Property Brothers. The show was aired on Seso, NBC’s streaming service, but was left without a home after the station stopped broadcasting in 2017.
