Judith Therese Evans, professionally known as Judy Greer, is a U.S. writer, model, director, and actress popularly known for her outstanding performances as a character actress in several dramatic and comedic films. Her first major role as an actress was Fern Mayo (Vylette) in the 1999 black comedy Jawbreaker, and in the same year, she played a supporting role in the war movie Three Kings.

Judy’s full name is Judith Therese Evans, and she was born on July 20, 1975, in Detroit, Michigan, the daughter of Mollie Ann and Rich Evans. Her mother, who works in a hospital and acts as an administrator, was formerly a nun who was dismissed from the convent after 8 years for wild behavior. Her father is a mechanical engineer.

She grew up in Redford Township and Livonia and was brought up Roman Catholic. Greer is a graduate of Churchill High School in Livonia and DePaul University, where she received a degree in Fine Arts in 1997. She began her acting career in 1998, and her first film appearance was in a horror movie called Knitting, in which she portrayed a college student who played a very deadly prank. In the same year, she was given a supporting role in Doug Ellin’s romantic comedy “Kissing a Fool”. The following year she was cast in an untitled project by Ken Finkleman, based on the Canadian show The Newsroom.
