As mentioned earlier, Kate Flannery had a very modest upbringing. She was born on June 10, 1964, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
She is a twin and one of seven children in an Irish-American family. Her twin sister is a social worker. Kate’s father owned a bar which he inherited from his own father. According to Kate, she and her siblings helped out in the bar, cleaning, and taking care of customers.
For her high school education, Flannery went to Archbishop John Carroll High School, studied at Shenandoah University for two years before attending the University of the Arts Philadelphia, where she finally graduated.
The office star began her career as a stage actress. She was a member of Second City’s National Touring Company and the Chicago’s Annoyance Theatre, where she created more than 15 shows.
Flannery’s cult comedy lounge act – The Lampshades has been running in Hollywood and at comedy festivals around the country since 2001.
