Prince was born on June 6, 1989, in Leominster, Massachusetts, into the family of Romanus and Christy Amukamara. The delighted parents named their new blissful baby Prince Kelechi Amukamara.

When Prince Amukamara was about 5 years old, his family moved to New Jersey before he moved again to Glendale, Arizona, where he would later start high school.
In Glendale, the young prince was enrolled at Apollo High School, where he excelled in sports, especially athletics, like his mother, and of course in America’s top-selling sport, American football. After his impressive high school achievements, he was named Arizona Republic’s “Big School Player of the Year” in Arizona, Rivals.com saw him as a three-star recruit, while Scout.com listed him on the Arizona All-State Team.
This made the boy a top target for most colleges that offered him scholarships. Amukamara pledged to play for the Nebraska Cornhuskers football team at the University of Nebraska in 2007. He studied political science and earned a degree in sociology from the university in 2010.
Here he significantly improved his soccer skills in every game of the three seasons. In his final year, an NFL scouting service rated the Prince 7.3, the highest rating of any 1,400 senior college students in the country, just as NFLdraftscout.com ranked him second-best cornerback prospect in the draft. So Prince Amukamara, the American-born Nigerian, was drafted by the New York Giants in the first round (19th in total) of the 2011 NFL Draft.
Amukamara’s professional career has seen him play for the Giants starting in 2011 after he signed a four-year contract for $8.18 million, with 90% guaranteed until 2015 when his contract expires. He then contacted the Jacksonville Jaguars, who offered him a one-year $5.5 million contract, including a $3 million guaranteed contract with a signing bonus of $1.5 million. On March 10, 2017, the Super Bowl Champion (XLVI) joined the Chicago Bears, who offered him a fully guaranteed one-year contract for $7 million, including a signing bonus of $3.5 million. His first season with the Bears proved to be promising and Amukamara signed a three-year $27 million contract extension on March 13, 2018.

Prince Amukamara met his wife Pilar Davis in 2011 in a Manhattan nightclub when he went to a club with his friends. First, she brushed him off and he couldn’t score a touchdown. However, the company of his teammates off the pitch proved to be the turning point in the game as they made pep passes to him, with which he approached her again, approaching her subtly but seriously with his intentions. Before Pilar could cut him off again, Amukamara was well beyond her goal line and was already making herself comfortable in her end zone (football field term) when they began exchanging e-mails.
