Samaire Armstrong Biography

The actress Samaire Rhys Armstrong was born in Tokyo, Japan, on October 31, 1980, from a Scottish father, Hunter Armstrong, who gave close combat training to soldiers, and an Italian mother, Sylvia Sepielli, who designs spas for resorts.

She spent part of her early years in Japan, where she lived for five years before moving to Hawaii. Samaire has also lived in several other Asian countries such as Malaysia and China. However, she grew up in Sedona, Arizona, where she attended Sedona Red Rock High School. During her time at the high school, she played volleyball for two years and was an MVP before she focused on acting and was cast in almost every production at her school.

After graduating high school, Samaire Armstrong enrolled at the University of Arizona to study costume design and drama but left school after a year. She attended university with actress Heather Blair and basketball player Luke Walton.

Samaire has acted in both television shows and films. She made her acting debut as Meredith on television in 2000 in an episode of the Fox drama Party of Five. Guest roles in high profile television shows such as The X-Files, ER, Judging Amy, and Freaks and Geeks followed. However, she became famous for her role in the Fox teen drama television series The O.C., in which she portrayed Anna Stern in 2003.

Other television shows that have been made possible by her include Entourage, CSI: Miami, Living with Fran, How to Make it in America, The Mentalist, NYPD Blue, NCIS, Grey’s Anatomy in guest roles and as a regular guest on the ABC’s drama/comedy television series, Dirty Sexy Money, Resurrection.

She made her film debut in 2001 in the parody film Not Another Teen Movie, in which she played the role of one of the Siamese twins, Kara Fratelli. Just My Luck (2006) as Maggie alongside Lindsay Lohan, the horror movie Stay Alive (2006) in which she played a leading role as Abigail, the Canadian comedy film It’s a Boy Girl Thing (2006) as Nell Bedworth are among her early roles.

Her other works include Rise: Blood Hunter alongside Lucy Lui, The Staircase Murders, Around June, The Last Harbor, 5 Souls, My Santa, Windsor Drive, A Winter Rose, and others.

In addition to her acting roles, she has appeared in the music videos for Penny and Me by Hanson and Bad Day by Daniel Powter.

2. Her name is of Irish origin

Her first name Samaire, pronounced Sah-mee-rah, is a Gaelic name and means twilight sun. The name comes from a book her father read when her mother was pregnant. For three months her parents pronounced the name “Sam-air” until they were taught how to pronounce it in its correct Irish form. Her nickname is Sasa.

3. Samaire has a fashion label

Sasa loves to dress up and would normally make or buy something and fix it up. Although she loves to spend on fashion accessories like bags, shoes, and belts, she doesn’t spend money on the things she can make.

For red carpet events, she often designs her own clothes. Maybe that’s what inspired her fashion label. Her fashion label is called Naru (the Japanese word for “to become”).

4. She is a fitness freak

As mentioned above, Samaire was born in Japan, where she lived for several years. She grew up in a family that is heavily involved in the Navy and where close combat training was the norm. She also learned Judo and received Japanese sword training. This gave her the mentality that she must be able to defend herself.

Her family owns a training center called the Spartan Training Center in Sedona, Arizona. By the age of two, as a teenager, she was able to clean 135 pounds and squat 315 pounds. She also trained with her father two or three times a week in front of the school at 6:30 in the morning.

Samaire Armstrong can be called a serial monogamist when it comes to training. She can go to Bikram Yoga at 6:30 in the morning for three months and then go hiking every afternoon for the next three months. Pilates would come next, and then the others could follow. According to her, the consistent practice of Pilates three or four times a week had an amazing effect on the real tightening and shaping of a taut waist and taut legs.

Although she never presses for physical exercise, Samaire has spent most of her life doing some kind of exercise. She knows when she’s in the mood and doesn’t make a “do or the affair of doing or die” out of it, i.e. she feels bad if she doesn’t come to the training. No wonder, she has always managed to look incredibly chic and adorable.

According to her athletic nature, she is 5′ 5″ (1.65 m) tall and weighs 54 kg (119 lb). Her body measurements are 30-23-32.

5. She has a son

Samaire Armstrong has a son – Calin Armstrong Christopher with her ex-boyfriend, an American bassist, Jason Christopher. Calin was born in December 2012.
