For many people, the car is just another human invention to make commuting from one place to another as easy and comfortable as possible, while for others the car is the linchpin of their lives. They live from cars and everything that has to do with cars, much to the admiration of others. One of these people is Dennis Collins, whom you have probably seen in Fast N’ Loud.
Find out more about his life and who the members of his family are, what his fortune is, and how he got where he is today.
Who is Dennis Collins From Fast N’ Loud?
Dennis Collins is an American businessman, a famous automotive dealer, and a media personality best known for his appearances on the hit reality show Fast N’ Loud on the Discovery Channel.
Collins is the owner of Collins Bros. Jeep(1984), a dealer specializing in the restoration, refurbishment, and customization of Jeep CJ’s and Wranglers. Not only is he one of the largest and most knowledgeable car dealers in the world, but he is also the proud owner of some of the rarest and most desirable classic cars.
Collins was born on January 28, 1965, in Wylie, Texas, and graduated with a degree in Economics and Finance from the University of Texas.
Dennis Collins is a record breaker as an avid car collector, including the historic Cannonball era, a non-stop coast-to-coast trip from New York to Los Angeles with his close friend and head of the Gas Monkey Garage Richard Rawlings in a 1999 Ferrari 550 Maranello.
Collin brokered a deal to purchase the 1958 Austin-Healey, a car he said in an interview with Hooniverse he had been chasing for over 25 years. He revealed that he called the owners every year until they retired and eventually negotiated a deal. With a little bodywork, the car, which was called “Goldie”, turned into a total beauty to win the Kuwait Concours d’Elegance prize for the best-restored car. He is also considered the owner of the first production model of the Nash-Healy from 1950.
If Dennis Collins is known for one thing, it is for his transparency in the presentation of his valuable collections, one of which is a white 2013 Lamborghini Super Trofeo, which is said to be one of 40 in existence. Collins also believes that he is the sole private owner of the model and is legally free to drive it.
As obsessive as Collins is, it is no surprise that he has collected and sold more than 500 Healeys collections in the three decades of his automotive business. While these beauties go in and out of his dealership, there are some cars that Collins considers unforgettable, such as the Super Boss, the world’s most expensive Mustang. The rarity of the Super Boss makes it more important to him than its monetary value. It was discovered that the car was on the road in Vietnam during the war. In the end, he sold it for a whopping $116,000 at the Barrett Jackson auction.
Before that he became a social media sensation because he owned Fox Body Mustangs before he sold them at the auction. The videos showing the cars at that time were viewed about 3 million times.
Collins perfectly combined his passion with commerce, a representation of the saying: “do what you love and you wouldn’t have to work a single day in your life”.
His Wife and Daughter
Dennis Collins describes himself as a simple person who has a passion for his family, his life, the jeeps, and the classic cars he buys and sells. He is married to his most supportive partner, Kimberly Collins, and for more than two decades the couple has remained committed to each other in their blissful marriage.
Collins and his wife have an adult and beautiful daughter, Kelsey Collins, whom he said has been competing with him later in the automotive business. He loves to show pictures of his family on his social media page, including one where he surprised his wife Kim with a diamond ring to celebrate their silver wedding anniversary. They live in a cantilevered house near a golf course in Richardson.
Dennis Collins is a winner when it comes to investing in mountains of motorized metal and making money from the hobby. As the owner of CBJeep with his own line of parts, Black Mountain Jeep Parts & Accessories, he has accumulated a tremendous amount of wealth over the years. Various sources have estimated his net worth at $30 million.
The Texas-based entrepreneur purchased the famous Law Man Mustang, a Super Boss machine with 429 horsepower, for less than $100,000, which was recently sold for over $2 million.
In July 2017, Dallas News reported that Collins’ home has a garage large enough to accommodate more than twenty cars – with air conditioning, of course. He decided to put his family’s property in North Texas up for sale, but without the cars, and build a dream home in another region of Texas.
