Celebrities are breaking something that many of us have gotten used to. In the entertainment industry, it has almost become the norm that many people just sit around waiting for news of a break-up once it is clear that certain celebrities have become an object. However, not many expected that the two-and-a-half-year relationship between Dominic Sherwood and Sarah Hyland would simply end.

Sherwood and Hyland first met in 2014 on the set of the Vampire Academy, a comedic horror film in which they both played the lead role. The two made their relationship public in March 2015 after a photo of them kissing at a Lakers game in Los Angeles found its way onto the Internet. They were so much in love and looked perfect together.
In February 2017, they celebrated two years together, and to mark the occasion, Hyland took Instagram to celebrate the love of their lives and wrote: “Happy 2 years to my #1 @domsherwood ?.”. In an interview with ET in August 2016, Hyland revealed that the key to her relationship with Dominic Sherwood is communication, saying that she thinks communication is really beautiful and is the key to any relationship.

Hyland wasn’t the only one who was in love, Sherwood was also in love, as he sang her praises all the time. Shortly after their second anniversary together, the Shadow Hunter star told ET in an exclusive interview that Sarah makes him want to be a better version of himself, and that’s what he loved most about her.
In another interview with ET a few months later, Dominic Sherwood praised Sarah again, this time for being strong and holding her own against Body-Shamers. The couple was so in love that they couldn’t help but be in love with each other, but that only raises the question: “What went wrong?

For a couple who seemed to be perfect together, the news of their separation came as a shock to many. For heaven’s sake, they had just celebrated two years of being together and were seen together almost everywhere, who would have thought they would end it so quickly.
However, for anyone who has followed the couple’s love life up close through their social media accounts, the news of their separation would not come as a complete surprise, as the signs that there was actually something wrong with their relationship began to show a few months after their two-year anniversary.
The couple usually posted pictures of the two of them on their respective Instagrams almost daily, but since April, about three months before the news of their separation hit the headlines in August 2017, they have not posted anything about each other.
Regarding the reasons why the couple ended their relationship, Entertainment Tonight reported that Sarah was the one who broke up with her Vampire Academy co-star. A source had told Entertainment Tonight magazine that the two remained friends despite their separation. The real reason for their breakup has not yet been revealed, and fans are still trying to put them back together. Until then, I guess we all have to come to terms with the reality of the breakup.

This relationship was the first for Hyland after Matt Prokop’s separation in 2014, and she dated Prokop for five years. After the separation, she filed a restraining order against him that year, claiming that he tried to strangle her and threatened to burn down her house.
