Jake Abel Biography
Jake was born November 18, 1987, as Jacob Allen Abel in Canton, Ohio, the son of Kim and Mike Abel. Abel has a brother named Scott. As a child, Abel was home-schooled by his mother Kim. He is of German, Swiss-German, and English descent.
As a child, Abel started to appear in commercials. After graduating from high school, he started acting in 2005. He began his career as a caretaker by appearing in three episodes of the TV series Threshold. Also in 2005, Abel was given a role in the Disney Channel Original Movie Go Figure. He continued to star in other Disney productions, including an episode of The Suite Life of Zack & Cody.
He also starred in episodes of Cold Case and CSI: Miami. In 2008, he had a small role in Strange Wilderness and appeared in the indie movie Tru Loved. Abel also had a role in Flash of Genius, for which he received a Rising Star Award at the 16th Hampton International Film Festival.
He starred in The Lovely Bones, a film based on the novel by Alice Sebold. In 2009 he appeared in the web series Angel of Death. From 2009 to 2010 Abel played the recurring role of Adam Milligan/Michael in Supernatural.

Abel’s biggest breakthrough in his career came in 2010 when he got the role of Luke Castellan in Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightning Thief. His role earned him an MTV Movie Award for Best Fight and a Teen Choice Award for Best Fight.
He resumed his role in the 2013 sequel, Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters. Abel starred in 2011 in the teen science fiction action thriller, I’m Number Four. Despite the negative reviews from critics, the film managed to capture three times its budget at box offices worldwide.
Abel portrayed Ian O’Shea in the romantic science fiction thriller film Der Gastgeber from 2013, which was based on Stephenie Meyer’s novel of the same name and filmed by Twilight. Abel’s other films include Against the Sun (2014), Good Kill (2014), Love and Mercy (2014), and Almost Friends (2016). In recent years, Jake Abel has slowed down his acting performance, but he was spotted at the 2018 Golden Globes awards and made it to the after-party.
