Vonnie B’Vsean Miller Jr. was born on March 26, 1989, in Dallas, Texas, to Von and Gloria Miller. He grew up together with a younger brother named Vinsynzie “Vins” Miller. He received his high school education at DeSoto High School in DeSoto, Texas. As a high school athlete with two sports, Miller played with the DeSoto Eagles high school football team at school and also ran track and field.
As a junior in high school, von Miller ran 37 tackles, 14 tackles for loss, 7 sacks, and 12 quarterbacks. In his senior year, the talented boy recorded 76 tackles, 14 tackles for loss, and 6 sacks, earning him the District 8-5A Defensive MVP Award.
